Quake 4 Graphics Overhaul ToolI've been really into Bethesda games for a long time and have almost all of the games they made since 2000. The only one I hadn't tried was Quake. I've grown up with 90s-early 2000s graphics but I've come to only like games with good graphics (I know I'm gonna get hate for that but it's the truth). I had looked at Quake 4 a few times on Steam but the graphics did not interest me until I saw them on higher graphics and I finally really wanted to play it. I initially got it for the computer but it didn't look good because it wouldn't go to my native resolution of 1440p so I decided to get it for XBOX 360. Does it look better on the XBOX? It's in the Bethesda pack because Bethesda's parent company bought id software.Quake should undoubtedly be played on PC with a mouse and keyboard and looks significantly better on PC. There are console commands to achieve any resolution you desire.All that said, I recommend you just check out quake live. It's a rerelease of quake 3. If you aren't interested in multiplayer fps then you probably shouldn't waste your time with any of the quake titles, tbh. The campaigns are nothing to write home about, really. Thank you for clarifying the true creator of Quake. I was off elsewhere and was not able to respond as well as I would have liked at the time.Quake 4 was a disaster when it came out. To my recollection, not many Quake 3 players moved on to it (because of the radical engine change, which was one of the major issues stated by many players at the time) Now days, you will mostly find idle servers from the main server listing - you may be able to find a few games, most of them are DM and the like - little team cooperation.However, as far as the story lines are concerned, Quake I and Quake II had fantastic story lines. Quake I was mainly kill them and take shit; where Quake II was put this shiny item here and profit, mostly run through corridors and kill everything in sight, but you have to admit coop was fantastic when folks got together and played.
